Snack City

December 6, 2017

One of my greatest talents is snacking. And these bliss balls are the pinnacle: packed with fibre and protein, perfect for energy and so easy to make for on-the-go.

You can thank me later…

Cacao and Peanut Butter Bliss Balls

Makes around 12-14 balls.

10 medjool dates (pitted)

100 gram raw almonds

2 tbsp peanut butter (I used crunchy but smooth would work just as well)

1 tbsp cacao powder

(1-2tbsp water if needed)

Ginger and Cashew Bliss Balls

Makes around 12-14 balls.

These are my absolute FAVOURITE. As a lover of ginger, these fiery bites are the best way to get that much needed afternoon energy boast.

10 medjool dates (pitted)

100 grams cashew nuts

1 tbsp ginger (or about triple that if, like me, you are self confession ginger addict).

(1-2tbsp water if needed)

Easiest method ever:

  • Blend all the ingredients together. If the mixture is too dry add the water.
  • Roll the mix into balls.
  • Optional: dust with more cacao powder/ ginger.
  • Devour.

They are best stored in an air tight container the fridge for freshness. Will be at their prime for up to five days, if they last that long…

You can also freeze them. Perfect if you bulk-make and prep for weeks ahead.

As strange as it may sound, I love to warm them up in the microwave for a few seconds. Serious game changer.
