Veggie Packed Cacao Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 large frozen banana

½ cup frozen cauliflower

1/2 cup frozen courgette

1tbsp ground flaxseeds

1tbsp cacao powder

100ml almond milk

Optional: 1 tbsp almond butter (I prefer to drizzle on top)

Optional: 1 tsp agave nectar/honey

 

Method: 

Simply blend all the ingredients and enjoy.

 

 

Top with The Paleo Foods CO.’s Cocoa and Hazelnut Grain-free Granola, Cacao Nibs, your favourite Nut Butter and berries.

 

The frozen veg makes the smoothie extra thick and keeps it refreshingly cold for longer!

 

You can also make this into a great post-work out smoothie by adding natural or chocolate protein powder.

 

Nutrition tip: Smoothies are a great way to pack more vegetables into your diet.  It is said they also allow you to absorb the nutrients more readily, being easier to digest than ‘hard food’.  Winning all round.
